Holik Square Resident Wireless Information
The network is named “CommunityWireless” and was originally open to all users, including visitors. The plan was to keep it open, but we ran into issues with abuse (which is common on open networks). We had more people access the network in a 24 hour period than we have residents. Because of this we have taken additional steps to preserve the service for our residents. Please use the form below to request to be added to the system.
The provider for the network is Suddenlink Communications, so when they experience issues, we experience issues. We have no guaranteed uptime or bandwidth SLA from them so we do not offer one to our residents. We try to provide this as a good-will service to you, our resident, at no additional cost. If you are in a heavy use or mission critical situation (i.e. telecommuting for work or taking classes online), you may want to contact Verizon or Suddenlink for a dedicated hardline solution for your specific needs. We cannot be held responsible for issues related to your lack of access. Please be aware that according to the TAA lease you are not permitted to withhold rent because of Internet issues.

No excuses. No Warnings. No exceptions. More info on DMCA at: http://www.dmca.com/
What if I want to use VPN?
The network supports most VPN solutions by default.
A limited number of IPSec-based VPN solutions do not work well behind NAT, which our network uses. If you are having difficulty, consider switching your VPN client to use SSL instead of IPSEC. Note that many configurations of most WiFi systems use NAT, and they all have the same problems with IPSec VPNs – this is not a network-specific issue.
There are multiple implementations of IPSec that have different properties with NAT.
Some IPSec implementations will not work if NAT is used. These implementations will not work at all if the client is not given a correct/valid public IP address.
Other IPSec implementations can work with NAT, however they all suffer from a problem where it is not possible for two clients with the same public IP address to talk to the same server. In this failure case, the first client will be able to connect fine, but the second one will fail (or will cause both to fail).
Any IPsec implementation that has support for NAT-T (NAT traversal) will work on our network.
